What is Resveratol?

Reservatol is a substance in red wine that is said to prevent age and heart related diseases.  During a segment on 60 minutes 16 years ago, the TV show investigated why the French lived longer than their American counterparts even though they had a higher fat diet and consumed massive amounts of wine.  This had 60 minutes and researches agree that there may be something in red wine that protects humans from diseases and heart related illnesses.

Now scientists across the country has identified Reservatol as the substance that protects humans from ageing and diseases.  Studies even suggest that Reservatol taken in high doses can extend your life by helping you avoid age related illnesses.

Dr. Christopher Westphal was interviewed by 60 minutes correspondent Morley Safer.  He says: “If the promise holds true, I think this has the chance to change healthcare”.

He says that although Reservatol won’t turn a 60 year-old into a 35 year-old it can help slow the ageing process: “Our goal is to prevent and forestall many of the diseases that strike us as we reach 50, 60, and 70. All with one pill.  I think if we’re on a train heading one direction, we can slow down that train. I think we can slow down these genes that control the aging process”.

Red wine is rich in Reservatol.  It is found in high concentrations in the skin of the grape.  It plays a significant role in preventing bacteria and fungi from entering.
