Search for Jennifer Seitz Suspended

Monday, December 29th, 2008

The search for missing woman Jennifer Ellis-Seitz who allegedly fell overboard the Norwegian Pearl has officially been suspended.  The former Central Florida reporter had been reported missing during a Christmas cruise with her husband.

Ellis-Seitz has been missing missing for 91 hours.  Reports indicate that Seitz has been suffering from emotional problems and may have taken her own life.  The Unites States Coast Guard and Mexican authorities have searched more than 4,200 nautical square miles of ocean in the coast of Cancun.

Ray Seitz Jr, and his mother-in law were with Jennifer to celebrate their 1 year anniversary.  They reported her missing from the Norwegian Pearl 7pm on a Friday.  Authorities reveal that surveillance cameras have a shot of a body falling off at around 8 pm Thursday, Christmas day.

According to her family, Jennifer was “happy”.  She was starting new job and hoped to start a family.  She showed no outward signs of distress or depression but in the past she had battled “emotional issues”.

“The family suspects that Jennifer chose an unfortunate ending to her life. She was a beautiful and caring person and will be truly missed by all who love her.” (from a statement released by the family)

Head Coach Mangini Fired by Jets

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Hours following the team’s completion of a late-season swoon and its elimination from playoff contention with a loss at home to the Miami Dolphins, Head Coach Eric Mangini got fired by the Jets. The announcement of the firing was made one morning during a news conference.

Eric Mangini, who was born on January 19, 1971 in Hartford, Connecticut, was the head coach of the New York Jets of NFL. At the age of 37, he was regarded as both the youngest head coach in the NFL, and the youngest coach in the four major North American sports such as the NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA. Based on the Jets history, Mangini is actually the youngest head.

Details of the story state that when the Jets garnered a score of 8-3, winning against New England and Tennessee, the front office agreed to give Mangini a contract extension. However, when the team lost for four of the team’s five final games resulted to another discussion among team officials under contention that Mangini might have lost control over his players. Sunday night when the final decision agreed upon was to fire Mangini who only knew the same the day after.

New York Jets Owner Woody Johnson and GM Mike Tannenbaum have talked but never mentioned any specific reason why they fired Mangini.

DAY 3 on the GAZA STRIP

Monday, December 29th, 2008

The conflict between Israel and Palestine reached its third day today, with the death toll reaching 315.  On Monday, Israeli jets flattened a five story building at a university, destroyed a house near the Hamas Premier’s home and devastated a security compound, obliterating symbols of Hamas’ power in the Gaza Strip.

Of the 315 dead, seven are reportedly children under the age of 15.  The airstrike has damaged Hamas’ ability to launch rockets, but a rocket was fired in the Israeli city of Ashkelon killing a man and wounding several others. This is the second fatality for Israel since the conflict began Saturday.

Gaza’s hospitals are overcrowded with the injured.  Over 9 hospitals are overwhelmed with more than 1,400 wounded people.

Israel has stated that they will continue with the offensive despite international pressure.  Israel further states that the goal of the offensive was to halt Palestine’s rockets which has damaged southern Israel.

On Sunday hordes of Gazans breached the boarders and tried to enter Egypt in order to escape the chaos.  Egyptian forces fired into the air in order to push the refugees back into Gaza.  Officials say a border guard was killed.

Hamas’ leaders are all hiding including Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas prime minister.  This use of force has been one of the deadliest in the decades of Israel-Palestine fighting.
