Also, she was the first performer and is currently the only female in country music history to win the Country Music Association’s “Entertainer of the Year” award for two times. She has also won the Country Music Association’s “Female Vocalist of the Year” twice.

“All three of tonight’s inductees looked at the way country music was presented on television and said: ‘We can make this even better. We can present country music to a mainstream audience with respect, love and humor,” said Tammy Genovese, the Country Music Association’s chief executive officer.

With the inductions, the Hall of Fame now has 108 members.

John Rich and Joan Bush are NEWLY WEDS

Monday, December 8th, 2008

American country music artist John Rich, who was born on January 7, 1974 in Amarillo, Texas, was a former member of Lonestar. In the late 1990s, she embarked on a solo career on BNA records. Later, he and Big Kenny formed the duo Big and Rich. They have recorded three major studio albums to date and even charted multiple singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. Also, John has co-written singles for various artists such as Keith Anderson, Cowboy Troy, and Gretchen Wilson and produced records for several other artists.

Rich’s long time girlfriend, Joan Bush, is a former model who, at present, runs a modeling agency in Houston, Texas. Both have been dating quietly for over five years. In order to keep their relationship secret, the pair never attended award shows together or walk on red carpet events together.

And just this Saturday night, the couple finally tied the knot in Nashville as confirmed by Rich’s representative. Only about 24 people of the couple’s family and friends has attended the small wedding ceremony. But a much larger reception was held at Nashville Fontanel Mansion, the former home of country star Barbara Mandrell and the location where john’s show “Gone Country” is filmed, after the wedding.
