Preparing a Thanksgiving Turkey

A 20-pounder can take 4-5 days to defrost in the refrigerator. You must put some allowance in order to cook the turkey on time. When it comes to roasting time of a whole turkey there are many things to consider. For Instances, A stuffed turkey takes longer to cook, the heat inside the oven may be unevenly distributed, a slightly frozen turkey requires longer cooking and the temperature of the oven may be inaccurate.

Here are some tips:

*Use dark roasting pans because it cooks faster.

*Use cooking bag.

*Set the oven temperature no lower than 325 degrees. Preheating is not necessary.

*Use of the roasting pan’s lid speeds cooking.

Another tip  is to lay celery at the base of your roasting pan; it will add flavor to the juices for a delicious gravy or you can slice a whole onion or lemon in the cavity of the turkey.
